Scientific Name: Mentha piperita. Family: Labiaceae. Common Name: Peppermint

This hardy herb grows to a maximum height of 90 cm. It has purplish quadrangular stems and creeping shoots. Its lanceolate leaves are heavily serrated, dark green in color and known for their strong, sharp smell. Its flowers are reddish, long and tubular and are borne in spikes. Perfumers favor the peppermint among all variety of all mint. It is originated from USA, China, Canada, Russia and France. It prefers a well-drained soil. The blooming period is from July to September.

The final ingredient is produced form the leaves and flowering tops via distillation. Of course, it odors is fresh, mint, slightly herbaceous with smooth, balsamic tones.
